Regular Program:

Mingo County Schools -- Two (2) Licensed Practical Nurses, to provide health services delegated by the Certified School Nurse, on an as/if needed basis, for the 2012-2013 school year.

           

Rate of Pay--$12.00 per hour for the 2012-2013 school year.  A current West Virginia Nursing License is required.  Position does not include any benefits of retirement, personal leave, medical, life, optical or dental insurance, seniority rights, reemployment rights, or any other related benefits.

 

Title I/Special Education Program:

One (1) Parent Involvement Coordinator

 

Rate of Pay--$11.00 per hour/1200 hours for the 2012-2013 school year.  Position does not include any benefits of retirement, personal leave, medical, life, optical or dental insurance, seniority rights, reemployment rights, or any other related benefits.

 

Primary Role:  Contribute to the success of the school/Title I LEA by providing comprehensive parent/family involvement program built around supporting the academic success of ALL students.

 

Essential Functions:

1.         Research, design, implement, and evaluate effective parent/family involvement practices.

2.         Coordinate parent services at the school and other locations as required.

3.         Integrate services with school and community partners.

4.         Collaborate with other parent involvement initiatives (Title I, Special Education).

5.         Provide ongoing parent/family activities that reinforce the importance of providing academic support in the home environment.

6.         Maintain regular contact with director and supervisor on a weekly basis

7.         Provide monthly reports to the state

8.         Follow school/LEA policies and procedures

9.         Plan and schedule future activities with educators

10.       Provide information to parents/families about the Parent-Educator Resource Center (PERC)

11.       Provide information to teachers and other school personnel about Parent-Educator Resource Center (PERC)

12.       Maintain detailed records of parent/family involvement activities

13.       Gather community, business, and service agency information

14.       Attend the PERC state meeting

Qualifications:

1.           Must hold high school diploma or equivalent

2.           Must have the ability to work cooperatively with school personnel and parents.

3.           Must have good oral and written communication skills

4.           Must have the competency necessary to perform assigned duties and responsibilities

5.           Must successfully meet health qualifications required for school personnel

6.           Must successfully pass criminal background check

7.           Prior experience as a successful parent coordinator is preferred

 

 

Title I/Special Education Program:

Five (5) Parent Assistant/Parent Educator Resource Center (PERC) -- Mingo County Schools

           

Rate of Pay--$7.25 per hour/800 hours for the 2012-2013 school year.  Position does not include any benefits of retirement, personal leave, medical, life, optical or dental insurance, seniority rights, reemployment rights, or any other related benefits.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.         Work under the direct supervision of Title I and Special Education Directors, as well as the Parent Involvement Coordinator at the Central Office.

2.         Attend monthly workshop(s) scheduled by the County Parent Coordinator, Title I and Special Education             Directors, as well as state workshops and trainings.

3.         Invite parent to participate in school events of the county

4.         Under the direction of the teachers, prepare homework packets for Title I/Special Education students

5.         Contribute to the school’s newsletter and all parent communications.

6.         Encourage parents to experience workshops at the school level and county level

7.         Maintain proper documentation (notebook) of parent involvement program at each school.

8.         Submit necessary payroll documentation to the Title I office in a timely manner.
