Applicants to all professional positions at Mingo Central Comprehensive High School will be expected to apply technology in order to enhance productivity and  to maximize student learning.  In addition, applicants may be required to become credentialed to teach Advanced Placement Courses.   The teaching of honors/dual credit classes may also be required.

 

If no applicant holding the required certification applies for a position, consideration will be given to the applicant who is willing to commit to a permit in the required certification area.  The applicant with the most hours in the required certification area shall be given preference.

 

            Applicants for teaching positions shall be required to complete a "Bid Sheet" and submit it to the Human Resources Office by 4:00 p.m., May 18, 2012. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION

POSITION TITLE:    Administrative Assistant/Curriculum and Instruction

 

QUALIFICATIONS:   1.  Masters’ Degree in Education with specialty in Curriculum

                         2.  Superior interpersonal skills and organizational abilities

                         3.  Excellent verbal and writing skills

                         4.  Experience in providing professional development to professional staff

                         5.  Knowledge of Policy 2510 and the ability to monitor implementation of courses of                                                                                study.

                         6.  Ability to monitor and provide training in current research-based high yield                                                                                                              instructional strategies.

                         7.  Successful experience with developing/drafting policies and regulations

                         8.  Knowledge of instructional technology hardware/software needs, as well as                                                                                                                 successful experience with instructional integration strategies.

                         9.  Knowledge and understanding of accreditation process and standards

                        10. Knowledge and skills to provide technical assistance to central office staff and                                                                                      school administrators

                        11. Ability and skills to work cooperatively and effectively with staff, students, parents,                                                                                       and the community at large

JOB GOAL:

To assist the Superintendent substantially and effectively with the task of providing leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining educational programs and services consistent with the goals and objectives of the West Virginia Department of Education.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

                        1.  Attend Board meetings and prepare reports for the Board as the Superintendent may                                                                                          direct              

                        2.  Plan, attend, and preside over any other meetings as the Superintendent may assign

                               3.  Compile operational statistics and gather such other data as the Superintendent may require

                        12.  Provide assistance and supervision in the writing of grants

                        13.  Provide leadership and supervision in all statewide and county instructional                                                                                                           initiatives.

                        14.  Supervision and monitoring of student achievement deficits in academic and                                                                                                         instructional programming.

                        15.  Successful completion of school and county strategic plans

                        16.  Perform other responsibilities as the Superintendent may assign

 

 

EMPLOYMENT TERM:

261 DAYS.  This position is at the will of the Superintendent, who serves as the designee of the West Virginia Board of Education and the West Virginia State Superintendent of Schools, acting on behalf of the Board of Education of Mingo County, pursuant to WV Code 18-2E-5(p)(4)(C), and the Mingo County Board of Education.
